Operation Multiplication

Welcome

Greetings and welcome to the BGCT Texas Hope 2010 Operation Multiplication web page. The BGCT, in partnership with the International Evangelism Association, is pleased to announce a major statewide lay ministry initiative.

About Texas Hope 2010 Operation Multiplication

Our Texas Hope 2010 commitment is to share the hope of Christ with every person in Texas within their own language and culture by Resurrection Sunday 2010. Our emphasis is on prayer and several strategies of evangelism, including a multimedia CD to be put in every home which hopefully, will result in thousands of people responding to the hope of Christ. Dr. Billie Hanks, Jr., and his International Evangelism Association team have committed to train leaders to follow up with these decisions. This initiative is called: Operation Multiplication. Click here for a letter from Dr. Hanks.

Lead Churches

Over 300 churches are being sought to serve as Lead Churches during this follow up process. Serving as an area Lead Church requires spiritual commitment to a unified vision for training “disciplers” to follow with decisions made by those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It also requires hosting four quarterly Saturday Lay Ministry Workshops on disciple-making for your area. Click here for an overview of the four Lay Ministry Workshops on Disciple-Making. Our Texas Hope 2010 goal for follow up is to equip over 100,000 lay leaders across the state of Texas to personally disciple all those who respond to the gospel during 2010 and beyond.

If you are interested in your church becoming a Lead Church please read through these materials and then click on Retreat Registration to register for a one day Lay Leader Retreat close to your city. (You will have a choice of paying by credit card or net 30 day billing.) The church will be able to select which one of the 30 regional Lay Leadership Retreats they wish to attend. Click here for information on the fall Lay Leadership Retreats. As confirmations of acceptance are received, a complimentary set of Operation Multiplication’s widely-used equipping materials plus a special edition of Robert Coleman’s classic, The Master Plan of Evangelism, will be sent to each participating Lead Church pastor. The church will also be able to select which one of the 30 regional Lay Leadership Retreats they wish to attend.

4 Easy Steps to Become A Lead Church For Texas Hope 2010 “Operation Multiplication”

Step 1: Read through the Lead Church information, pray about the impact it will make on your church and community. If you decide to become a Lead Church then select the 3 most qualified lay persons in your church to participate in one of the 30 fall Lay-Leader retreats.

Qualities to look for in the three lay leaders that attend to become certified facilitators:

  • One of the three selected lay leaders will need to be a gifted teacher who has the ability to clearly communicate how to utilize the “Operation Multiplication” training materials. Each teacher will be given a DVD and PowerPoint to aid with communication.
  • One of the three selected lay leaders will function as an encourager and will need to feel comfortable visiting area pastors, presenting the spiritual vision, and enlisting the participation of sister evangelical churches in the area.
  • One of the three selected lay leaders will need to be gifted in administration in order to coordinate the workshops’ physical preparations.

Step 2: After deciding to become a Lead Church and selecting the three lay leaders simply click on, Retreat Registration and select your retreat site. You will have a choice of paying by credit card or net 30 day billing.
